How to order

Open the DMV's plate order page.
Start at Utah's Motor Vehicle Portal and choose Individual.

Verify your vehicle.
Enter your last name, your ZIP code, the last four digits of your VIN, and your current plate number.

Pick the plate.
Choose Special Group Plate. Then select Utah Lunch Debt Relief from the list.

Review and pay.
Confirm your contact details, check the fee summary, and pay by card. The DMV mails your new plate.

The $30 pays off school lunch debt.
The DMV collects your $30 contribution and sends it to the Utah Lunch Debt Relief Foundation. We use all of it to pay off school lunch debt for Utah students.
You give $30 again each year when you renew. Your plate keeps working for as long as it stays on your car.
The other $23.75 covers the DMV's own plate, shipping and registration fees. For questions about how we use plate money, email hello@utldr.org.

How much does it cost?
You pay $53.75 today. That covers your $30 contribution, $19.75 in DMV plate fees and shipping, and $4 for a new registration. Each year after, you add $30 to your renewal.
Where does my $30 go?
It pays off school lunch debt for Utah students. The DMV sends the contributions to the Utah Lunch Debt Relief Foundation, and we send them to schools.
Can I order it in person?
Yes. You can order online, at any DMV office, or by mail. Online is the fastest way, and the DMV mails the plate to the address on your registration.
Can I personalize it?
Yes. You can choose up to six letters and numbers. The DMV shows the personalization fee when you order.
Which vehicles can have it?
The DMV offers the plate for cars, trucks and trailers. Motorcycles keep their standard plate for now.
